The Story Behind L’Mane’s Signature Prints
Original artwork has become one of the most recognisable elements of L’MANE.
Across different collections, the colours and compositions change, but the idea remains consistent: our prints are developed as part of the design language of the garment, rather than selected as decoration.
They give each collection its own visual identity while remaining connected to the wider L’MANE world.
CREATED, NOT SOURCED
L’MANE prints are custom-developed for the brand.
Rather than beginning with an existing pattern, we develop original abstract artwork around the creative direction of a collection or drop.
The inspiration is never limited to one source. It can emerge from architecture, colour, movement, emotion or an abstract idea we want to explore.
This freedom allows each print to have its own character rather than conforming to a particular motif or trend.
A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE FOR EACH COLLECTION
Our prints are not intended to look the same from one collection to another.
In Abstract Resilient, expressive artwork reflected ideas of resilience, adaptation and movement. Other collections have explored completely different relationships between colour, emotion and form.
As L’MANE evolves through new drops, the artwork evolves with it.
What connects them is not a particular colour palette or brushstroke. It is the approach: original abstract artwork considered in relation to the garment.
EXPRESSION WITH RESTRAINT
A signature print does not need to cover an entire garment.
As our design language has developed, we have become increasingly interested in the tension between artwork and restraint.
A print might dominate a silhouette, but it can also appear inside a pleat, beneath a layer, along one section of a garment or as an unexpected reveal visible only through movement.
Sometimes showing less allows the artwork to have greater impact.
PRINT AS PART OF THE FORM
The relationship between print and silhouette is particularly important to L’MANE.
Pleating can fragment an image. Draping can distort it. An asymmetric construction can shift the composition, while movement continually changes which parts of the artwork are visible.
This means the print cannot always be considered separately from the garment.

AN EVOLVING SIGNATURE
For us, having a signature does not mean repeating the same thing.
It means creating something recognisable in the way we approach design.
Our artwork can become quieter or more expressive. Colours can change. New techniques and placements can emerge. Some drops may use print prominently, while others may reveal it only in small, unexpected moments.
That evolution is important.
Because L’MANE's signature is not one particular print.
It is the way we continue to bring art into clothing differently, deliberately and with each new expression of L’MANE.
